A reliable industry source exclusively told Filmibeat Chief Copy Editor Abhishek Ranjit, "Sony Entertainment Television is working to improve its non-fiction programming as it wishes to introduce a series of new shows, including MasterChef India and Wheel of Fortune. While fiction dramas have taken a backseat, non-fiction will continue to remain the staple diet of the leading Hindi GEC. Indian Idol 16 continues to remain a top property for the channel and it wishes to take things to the next level by bringing in new guests and introducing spicy twists and turns."
As the show reached its second stage, Indian Idol 16 locked in its Top 16 contestants, following the theater round and platinum auditions.
